The 2015 Bob Rose Golf Scramble exceeded our wildest expectations! With cash and in-kind contributions topping $66,000, the tournament actually netted $45,000 cash for Arc clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities – a record-setting fundraising total!
We want to thank the close to 50 sponsors (almost 20 of them new to the tournament this year) and the 30 volunteers who helped make this year’s tournament both a financial success & a fun-filled event. Of course, the great folks at Haile Plantation Golf & Country Club could not have been more supportive or professional, and the weather was flawless.
We also extend a special ‘Thanks’ to David’s BBQ & Loosey’s for once again feeding the hungry golfers and volunteers before and after the scramble, and Napolatano’s Restaurant for hosting a pre-event reception on Thursday evening before the tournament. News Radio 97.3 The Sky was our Presenting Sponsor & radio ‘Star’ Bob Rose once again lent his celebrity and support to The Arc of Alachua County’s largest annual fundraiser.
Although no one sunk the ‘Hole In One’ on No. 8 to win the beautiful Harley-Davidson sponsored by our friends at Gainesville Harley-Davidson or won the contest sponsored by Charity Golf International on No. 10’s Long Drive Contest, all the golfers had a great time trying! The winning team, with a score of 53, was My Brand and featured Gary Klopper, Eric Pace, Jonathan Hope and Brandon Moore. Congratulations to My Brand! (picture below)
As we bask in the warm glow of a 2015 Bob Rose Golf Scramble we find hard to imagine it can be topped, we already set our eyes on next year’s tournament – set for Friday, April 22, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Haile Plantation Golf & Country Club. So SAVE THE DATE and see you next year!
